This trail takes you promptly up Magee Peak.  No lakes, no meadows, nor other scenic diversions.

You begin in featureless forest, but as you relentlessly ascend the view begins to open up.  The Lassen Peak complex of mountains comes into view. 

And, as you reach the crest, Mount Shasta and much of Northern California await your discerning eye and overwhelm your efforts to identify the multitude of geographic features....

Look for Whitebark Pines near the summit, and a distinctive gray and black jay, the Clarks Nutcracker.
