Wilderness Permits--none required for the Thousand Lakes Wilderness; enjoy your visit

This is the mildest hike in the Thousand Lakes Wilderness.  It climbs moderately up to Lake Eiler, the largest lake in the wilderness.

Look for Quaking Aspens on the far shore when you first reach Lake Eiler.  Stroll for a while, and when you get to the more western part of the lake consider the two campsites.

The trail then winds around the loop of the Thousand Lakes Valley.  Toward the end is Barrett Lake and another campsite worthy of consideration.

The trail then descends the way you came in back to the trailhead.

Mosquitos June-July.
Snow Nov-June.
